Types Of Homes Installing Solar PV

Solar PV InstallationNow here is an interesting solar myth for you, you may have heard.

“Australia's Green schemes are just helping the rich to buy solar, which is then subsidised by the poor.”

At Solar World we know this myth is surely busted! Why? Well here we are servicing the Western suburbs of Sydney, installing solar pv on a day to day basis and we would have to say, we find it's those householders more concerned about rising electricity costs, who are acting today to save tomorrow. And these householders who are acting now and have been so for a long time, are often from the lower to fixed income households. As far as we are concerned the areas of Sydney that have more money, have less solar! You only have to go for a drive around these different suburbs, to see the difference.

The Clean Energy Council of Australia has just released similar facts, in their recently released  CEC Solar Myth & Fact Report.

They too report the suburbs with the highest percentage of solar installations, are overwhelmingly low to  middle income suburbs and areas with a high proportion of retirees. All of these households being collectively concerned about Australia's rising electricity prices.

This is a great Myth Busting exercise from the CEC, as there are many myths existing about solar power. Such as to what it can do, what it costs, whether governments should support households and businesses in changing to solar.

Read the full facts here in the CEC Solar Myth & Fact Report. This fact sheet helps set the record straight and informs us of the types of homes installing Solar PV in Australia.

Guess where in Australia the most solar is installed? Read the full report, you will be suprised.
